Though some bread would be good to have so I could actually keep certain meds down….. So I’d have to figure something out there.

Actually its not as simple as “you do it or you dont”. Not everyone can “do it”. Some people have chronic pain and its enough of a challange to get out of bed, let alone work my ass off in a gym for a 1-2 hour work out like i used to? Its not possible for me (i have endometriosis and fibromyalgia), and for ALOT of people with chornic pain.
People like you and your blog are why people with chronic pain or even just chubby people feel bad about themselves. Just because people are heavier doesnt mean they eat crap and sit on there asses all the time. I am in physical therapy twice a week, im at a rehabilitation center 3 times a week and i go to school part time. I get up in the morning and im exausted and my whole body throbs, all fucking day. But i still do chores, i still do yoga, i still do something. I may not look like that or do the type of workout people my age usually do, but i do my damn best.
Id like to see you do what i do on a daily basis. because i DONT think you could. Plus id rather look like i do now, than to look like that. I dont want that. I didnt choose to have the problems i have. I dont choose to not be able to do things. You can choose to hate yourself to look like that, but youll still hate yourself once you do. Acceptance starts on the inside, not the outside.

Arthritis Kids Poem →

faithhopepain:

I found this really awesome poem from the Arthritis Kids SA Support Group. It helped me and I hope it will help you.

Do and Don’ts for Arthritis:

Don’t assume that because I look well I feel well. Looks can be deceiving. Many days I look great but feel terrible.

Don’t tell me you know how I feel because you DON’T. Two people with the same disease can feel totally different.

Don’t tell me ‘’it could be worse’’. Yes, it could be but I don’t need to be reminded all the time.

Don’t be upset that you can’t ease my pain. It won’t do any good two of us being miserable.

Don’t ask me how I feel unless you really want to know. You may hear a lot more, than you are prepared to listen to.

Don’t assume because I did a certain activity yesterday that and I can do it again today. Arthritis is ever changing. Each day is different.

Don’t decide what I am capable of doing. Arthritis does not affect the brain. Allow me to decide what activity I can participate in. There may be times that I make the wrong decisions, and if I do, I will know it soon enough.

Do learn everything you can about the disease. The more you know, the better equipped you will be to know what to expect.

Do realize I am angry and frustrated with the disease, not with you.

Do let me know you are able to help me when I ask. I’ll be grateful.

Do offer me lots of hugs and encouragement.

Do understand why I cancel plans at the last minute. I never know from one day to the next how I will feel. Arthritis is like that.

Do continue to invite me to all the activities. Just because I am not able to bike ride with everyone doesn’t mean I can’t meet you for a picnic at the end of the trail. Please let me decide.

Finding the Balance in Fibromyalgia: Just because it's used to treat depression doesn't mean that's all it can treat. →

fibromyalgiabalance:

So, I’ve read about and heard of so many people with fibromyalgia complaining about the use of “anti-depressant” medication being used to treat fibro. They’ll say, “They want me to take Cymbalta, that’s for depression so they must think I’m crazy and that these symptoms are all in my head.” The…

A Supermodel With Lupus: I am Closed →

supermodelrevealed:

Don’t you dare tell me what you would do if you were in my position…because you’re not.

Fuck your water aerobics class or that vegetarian juice diet that you swear by.

I’m not interested in the medicines you would take, the many miles you would drive to see a ‘special lupus’ doctor to fix you if…

WHY DOES IT TAKE A CELEBRITY TO GET DIAGNOSED WITH SOMETHING TO BRING NATIONAL ATTENTION TO A DISEASE?

JUST ASKING BRO.

A valid question.

Seriously!

Unlimited sick time. No wonder they have no sympathy for the sick, elderly, and disabled who can’t work. Must be nice to not have to worry that you’ll lose your job over bad health that’s outside of your control. Not all of us were so lucky when it came to the genetic lottery (at least, the last time I checked, we don’t control our own ancestry).
